Colocation is a way of retaining complete control of your server whilst obtaining the full benefits of a data centre. With colocation, you own, supply and maintain the server and you upgrade it with more memory. larger hard drives, faster processor etc as needed.
Data Centres
Data centres have some of the best power, network, cooling and security facilites there are. They cost millions of pounds to build and maintain and are often shared by many companies. The best data centres are called 'vendor neutral' meaning that you can purchase transit from whoever you want and can connect your networks to the other companies networks. All of the big companies rent space in vendor neutral data centres so that they can connect to the networks of the other big companies for the lowest possible cost.
Services
Reboots / resets are available on request. Access to your equipment is permitted if 24 hours notice is provided. Transit is available for about £20 per mbit per month. VLANs, and backup facilities are also available. Please ask for further details.
